The power of together... a joint effort with shining results.
A couple of months ago, staff and volunteers from CAFCL sat down in a discussion of what the new annual theme should be. In years past, it has been “Live your Best Life”, Everyone has a Dream and most recently “Discover”. There was much conversation around how the community has embraced and supported the work we do, ensuring the individuals we serve are engaged and inspired to believe in themselves to achieve their personal goals. From this discussion, a collaboration of idea’s were generated and we developed the new CAFCL annual theme for 2010/11 as “Together We Shine”.
Our new theme signifies and reflects the relationships and partnerships CAFCL has within our organization, our families and our community. It also reflects our relationships we have as an organization with the individuals we serve. We all enable each other to “shine” within our own capacities. That could be individual donor shining through investing valuable funds to sustain programming. It could be a staff shining through providing compassionate and professional care to one of our vulnerable clients. It could also reflect a client that has showcased their abilities to achieve something they didn’t think possible and is shining with their accomplishments. We all need each other to truly shine.
The power of collaboration is thriving at CAFCL and we are ready to let the world know we are proud of our community, our organization and especially our clients— for all working and shining together The signature photo, developed in collaboration with and donated by Darryl Rott of PICS Photographics, represents what we believe as “Together We Shine.” Emily Patterson, from Camrose and assistant to Darryl, assisted significantly to our photo by drawing some recognizable buildings in the area – trying to capture and demonstrate “our community”. One of our individuals in our services, Renee, is truly shining as she proudly showcases her achievements and abilities, embraced by the community of Camrose and area supporting her.
HELP US SHINE!
To help announce and celebrate our new theme, CAFCL is going to be selling sun shaped vehicle antenna toppers. Our hope is to have hundreds of the toppers “shining” around Camrose, generating awareness and conversation about the work that happens at CAFCL. They can be purchased for $5 at the following businesses until the end of July: TD Canada Trust, Camrose Cycle, Richardson’s Jewellery, Bra Necessities, Harberg Nikiforuk Wood and at CAFCL reception. Supplies are limited and are already selling fast, so we encourage people to purchase them soon. If you don’t have an antenna on your vehicle, they can also be used as pen/pencil toppers!
